Place of Bloom
Mitsumi Art Taiwan

In A Place of Bloom, Finnish artist Milla Vaahtera explores the delicate interplay between materials, form, and light through sculptural works in glass and brass. Bringing together the transparency of glass and the warmth of metal, her creations inhabit a space between fragility and strength, stillness and movement.

Through an intuitive approach to material and composition, Vaahtera creates works that evoke a sense of lightness and vitality. Each piece reveals a subtle dialogue between contrasting elements, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover the quiet beauty that emerges from their balance.

Like flowers opening toward the light, the works in A Place of Bloom suggest moments of transformation and becoming. Rather than representing nature literally, they capture its underlying rhythms: the unfolding of form, the interplay of colors, and the delicate equilibrium that allows life to flourish.

Presented in Taiwan for the first time, A Place of Bloom offers an opportunity to experience Vaahtera’s distinctive artistic language in which material, light, and space come together in a poetic exploration of beauty and vitality.

The exhibition invites visitors to enter a world where seemingly opposing qualities coexist, and where a moment of blooming becomes an experience of its own.
